Yosuke Sumi

Born 1993, Fukuoka, Japan. Graduated from Kyushu University’s Department of Image Design. After studying film in Los Angeles, he began working as a cinematographer based in Tokyo. Based on the perspective he has developed as a cinematographer, he strives to carefully confront the subjects he shoots and the atmosphere of the place. Sumi has won the Runner-up Grand Prix at the Kobe Independent Film Festival 2020, the Special Jury Prize at the Micro Cinema Contest 2022, and many other awards. _JAP_ 角 洋介（すみ ようすけ）。1993年生まれ、福岡県出身。九州大学芸術工学部画像設計学科卒。ロサンゼルスで映画の勉強をしたのち、東京を拠点にシネマトグラファーとして活動を開始。撮影監督をベースとして培ってきた目線をもとに、撮影対象やその場所の空気感と丁寧に向き合うことを心がけている。神戸インディペンデント映画祭2020準グランプリ、マイクロシネマコンテスト2022 審査員特別賞、他多数受賞。
