産業革命史

技能五輪全国大会に出場する選手たちの訓練の日々を記録した作品。木材や鋼鉄などの一次的な加工材、プリント基盤や電子部品など製品同士の接続、プログラミング言語を操りPC内で構築するものなど、各種目を記録していると人類が生み出してきた産業の変遷が見えてくる。全てが現在の生活に欠かせないものだが、選手が駆使する身体や指先の動作は、扱う道具や機械と適応し様々な姿を見せる。産業と人間の身体的な関係に迫る。

“History of Industrial Revolution”

This film documents the training days of athletes competing in the National WorldSkills Competition. Documenting the various disciplines, such as primary processing materials like wood and steel, the connection between products like printed circuit boards and electronic components, and those built within PCs by manipulating programming languages, reveals the transition of the industries that mankind has created. All are indispensable to our current lives, but the body and fingertip movements used by the athletes show various forms as they adapt to the tools and machines they handle. The film looks at the physical relationship between industry and humans.
